We're halfway through February and Westchester is as lively as ever. New restaurants keep opening, community events fill the calendar, and the Hudson still looks beautiful even when it's 28 degrees out.

Here's what's worth your attention this week.

🍽️ Restaurants Making Noise Right Now

Basso by PXK — Chappaqua
Celebrated Hudson Valley chef Peter X. Kelly has taken over the kitchen at the former Basso56 on King Street in Chappaqua, giving the restaurant a full rebrand. Kelly is updating the Italian menu with his own contemporary specialties and has added a weekend brunch. If you know his work, you know this one's worth a reservation.

The Taco Project — New Rochelle
This fast-casual Mexican chainlet — with locations in Tarrytown, Bronxville, Yonkers, and Pleasantville — just opened its New Rochelle location at 596 North Ave. It's their sixth spot, and they've won Best Tacos in Westchester eight times. An easy, reliable lunch option for anyone in the area.

Osteria Padre Pio — West Harrison
After years as an under-the-radar Mamaroneck staple, this Italian restaurant under Amalfi Coast native Chef Andrea Ingenito has moved to a larger space in West Harrison at 97 Lake St., complete with a new bar, more seating, and a revised menu. A quiet upgrade for the area.

🎭 Things To Do This Week

Colin Quinn — Tarrytown Music Hall
February 20 | 8pm | Tickets from $35

The veteran stand-up comedian and former SNL cast member brings his latest set to one of Westchester's most beloved venues. Tarrytown Music Hall is worth the trip on its own — the building is gorgeous and the sightlines are great.

Kansas — The Capitol Theatre, Port Chester
February 19 | 8pm | Tickets vary

The classic rock band behind Carry On Wayward Son and Dust in the Wind plays Port Chester's legendary Capitol Theatre. If your parents ever owned this album, bring them.

Winter Snowshoeing & Cross-Country Skiing — Various Parks
All month | Free with park entry

Ward Pound Ridge Reservation in South Salem and the Kitchawan Preserve in Ossining (along Route 134) are the two best spots in the county for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing right now. No crowds, no lift tickets, great trails.

🏘️ Around the County

  • Westchester Knicks are playing home games at the County Center in White Plains through late March. If you've never been to a G League game, it's a great value — real NBA-level talent, affordable tickets, and a much more intimate crowd than Madison Square Garden.

  • DeCicco & Sons is expected to open its Sleepy Hollow location at The Edge development in the first quarter of 2025. The family-run gourmet grocery is one of the county's best, and the Sleepy Hollow location will be their largest store yet.

  • Jacob Burns Film Center in Pleasantville is running its "Film to Table" series this winter — pairing films with culinary themes. Worth checking their calendar at burnsfilmcenter.org if you're a movie lover.

💡 Good to Know

  • Parking tip for White Plains: The Galleria mall parking garage on Main Street offers free weekend parking and is a short walk to the performing arts center and most downtown restaurants.

  • Farmer's markets are limited in winter but the Pleasantville Farmers Market and Larchmont Farmers Market run year-round. Both are worth a Saturday morning stop for local eggs, baked goods, and winter produce.
