February's almost behind us. Before we race into March, there's still plenty worth getting out for — including one of the best comedy shows of the season and a handful of restaurant openings that are worth your attention.
😂 This Weekend's Best Bet
Westchester Comedy Club — Rye Grill & Bar
February 26 | Rye | Tickets vary
Westchester Comedy Club has been rotating through some of the county's best venues all month, and their Rye Grill show is a great way to close out February. Consistent lineup, laid-back venue, and a good crowd. Reserve a table in advance.
Winter Theater: Othello at Lyndhurst — Tarrytown
February 28 | Lyndhurst Mansion, Tarrytown | Check lyndhurst.org for tickets
Shakespeare performed in one of Westchester's most dramatic historic properties. Lyndhurst is stunning in any season, but there's something particularly atmospheric about a winter performance in the mansion. Dress warm — the estate grounds are part of the experience.
Hiking at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation — South Salem
All weekend | Free
Westchester's largest park is at its most peaceful in February. Miles of well-maintained trails, varied terrain, and almost no crowds. If you go, the parking lot off Route 35 near the main entrance is your best starting point.
🍽️ What Just Opened
Vida Restaurant — Thornwood
Chef Marc Taxiera, who with his wife Brianne runs the nationally acclaimed Augustine's Salumeria in Mamaroneck, opened this Spanish tapas concept late last year. The space is two stories, with a dramatic bar scene downstairs and a softer lounge upstairs. It's already one of the most talked-about new restaurants in the county.
Epstein's Deli — Coming Soon to Scarsdale
One of the county's most anticipated openings: the Hartsdale favorite is expanding to a second location in Scarsdale, expected to open in the next few months. Classic Jewish deli — pastrami, matzoh ball soup, the works. Keep an eye on their Instagram for updates.
Meraki Taverna's New Dining Room — Armonk
The popular Greek restaurant on Main Street has officially expanded, adding 50+ seats and a second bar. If Meraki was always a little too crowded on weekends, now's a good time to revisit.
🏘️ Community Notes
Caramoor in Katonah is running signature tours of the historic Rosen House on Fridays and Saturdays through spring. The Mediterranean-style villa is filled with remarkable art and furnishings — it's one of those Westchester gems many residents have never visited. Tickets at caramoor.org.
Teatown Lake Reservation in Ossining is open for guided winter nature walks most weekends. Their naturalists are exceptional and it's a genuinely great way to spend a few hours with kids. Visit teatown.org for the schedule.
Road note: Expect some local road disruptions in coming weeks as spring infrastructure projects ramp up in White Plains and along Route 9 in Tarrytown. Check westchestergov.com for updates.
