🍽️ This Week's Big Deal: Hudson Valley Restaurant Week
Now through March 15 | County-wide | hvrestaurantweek.com
Hudson Valley Restaurant Week is running right now across Westchester, and it's genuinely one of the best times of year to try a restaurant you've been putting off. This spring, 51 local restaurants are participating — offering specially priced prix-fixe lunches and dinners at $24.95, $29.95, $39.95, or $44.95.
Whether you've been meaning to try a spot in Tarrytown, White Plains, or Larchmont, this is the week to do it. Many participating restaurants are right off Metro-North stops, so it's easy to make a night of it. Check the full list and make reservations at hvrestaurantweek.com.
🌿 This Weekend
Maple Saturday at Lenoir Preserve — Yonkers
March 7 | Lenoir Preserve, Yonkers | Free
It's maple sugaring season across Westchester, and Lenoir Preserve in Yonkers is kicking things off this Saturday. Learn how sap becomes syrup, watch live demonstrations, and enjoy one of the sweetest local traditions of the year. Great for kids, easy to get to.
Black Box Chronicles at Hudson Valley MOCA — Peekskill
March 7 & 8 | 1701 Main St, Peekskill | Fridays 7pm, Weekends 3pm
Studio Theater in Exile is presenting a series of short plays inspired by the current Psychological Portrait exhibition at Hudson Valley MOCA. Twelve playwrights were selected from nearly 200 submissions. Running through March 15 — an unusually creative local theater experience worth the drive to Peekskill.
Othello at Lyndhurst Mansion — Tarrytown
This weekend | Lyndhurst, 635 S Broadway, Tarrytown | lyndhurst.org
Shakespeare performed inside one of Westchester's most dramatic historic properties. The Gothic mansion on the Hudson is atmospheric in any season — in early March it's especially moody and memorable. Tickets at lyndhurst.org.
Maple Sugaring at Greenburgh Nature Center — Scarsdale
This weekend | Greenburgh Nature Center, Scarsdale
Another great maple sugaring option this weekend, right in Scarsdale. Hands-on tree tapping, tastings, and the kind of event that actually teaches you something. Check greenburghaturecenter.org for times.
🆕 New & Notable
La Maison — Bronxville
The new French bistro that replaced the former Ernie's Wine Bar on Pondfield Road is open and already drawing attention. Classic menu — French onion soup, steak frites, escargot, moules frites — in a cozy neighborhood setting. Exactly the kind of spot Bronxville needed.
Abbiocco Salumeria & Focacceria — White Plains
Husband and wife Elda and Vincenzo Adamo opened this Neapolitan market on January 6th and it's quickly become one of the most talked-about new spots in the county. Think imported salumeria, fresh-baked pastries (sfogliatella, cannoli, bombolini), housemade focaccia sandwiches, and Italian coffee. The Napoli sandwich — porchetta, broccoli rabe, fennel — is already a crowd favorite.
Home Frite — White Plains
Father and son Fayaz and Khizar Khan opened a second location of this burger chain near White Plains Hospital in January. Burgers, loaded fries, hot dogs, and wings — all halal. The truffle parmesan loaded fries are getting attention. A solid fast-casual option for the White Plains area.
Bobo's Café — Coming to Tarrytown
The wildly popular brunch café (already in Chappaqua, Somers, and Baldwin Place) is opening its first southern Westchester location on North Broadway in Tarrytown later this year. If you haven't been to a Bobo's yet, the wait is worth it.
🏘️ Around the County
Café Nelo is expected to open in Bronxville this month. Chef Giuseppe Fanelli, formerly of the acclaimed Tredici North in Purchase, is bringing a fusion concept — American, Italian, French, and Swedish influences — to Bronxville. Keep an eye on their Instagram for the opening date.
Klēma is coming to Larchmont this spring. Chef Michael Psilakis, the force behind Irvington's beloved MP Taverna, is opening a new restaurant in Larchmont. No firm date yet but the buzz is real.
The Saw Pit — a new restaurant and brewery — is coming to Port Chester's Metro-North station this spring. Breakfast, lunch, pizza, açai bowls, and locally made beer. A great addition for commuters and weekenders alike.
